Root Canals

Root canal therapy allows dentists to save teeth that would normally require removal. Root canal therapy is also beneficial because it relieves pain. When a patient needs a root canal, this means the nerves in their teeth have become infected and can cause excruciating, chronic tooth pain. By removing the infected tissue, our team is able to help provide much needed relief. Serious tooth infections may cause serious health problems and can have a negative impact on your overall health and well being. If neglected, the infection can travel to surrounding teeth, or even reach a patient’s bloodstream. Root canal therapy protects patients from infection and helps them maintain good oral health.

When you come into our office for a root canal, Dr. Sapienza and our team will begin by removing all of the infected tissue and sterilizing the inside of your tooth. Once the infection has been cleaned out and the area has been sterilized and medicated, we will protect your remaining tooth structure with a dental crown. Because our dental crowns are custom made for each patient in a dental lab, the root canal process may require more than one appointment.

At Leading Smiles, we work with each patient individually to meet their unique needs. To find out more about root canals or to schedule a consultation, give our office a call today. If you are experiencing a severe toothache, contact us right away to schedule an emergency exam!
